Former Linn County man accused of defrauding dozens of comic book collectors arrested

Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan reports that on August 14, 2024, Michael David DeChellis, 57, of Aumsville, was arrested after a six-month investigation. The investigation began on February 5, 2024, when a victim from Maryland, called the Linn County Sheriff’s Office to report he sent four comic books to “Hero Restoration”, located on Santiam Terrace Road, near Lebanon, in February 2019.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (541) 967-3950.

After admiring the work and stellar reputation of Mike DeChellis owner and proprietor of Hero Restoration Comics, we paid him and sent our comic books to him to be worked on. However they were never returned and no refunds were issued. We are actively trying to unravel the mystery of Hero Restoration and missing comic books.
